SLIM conducts Experience Sharing Forums, which bring together Marketing experts from across the country and often from overseas as well, giving them an opportunity to share their learning and experiences with our members. This programme is conducted several times a year and greatly anticipated, being an invaluable resource event for our members.
The Institute also publishes its magazine, ‘Sri Lankan Marketer’ which is replete with topical subject matter that targets knowledge enhancement and discussion amongst our membership. Most of its articles were written by local and international professional Marketers, thus the reader has many things to learn from it.
The official dinner dance open for all professional Marketers in the fraternity. This fun-filled night of games, prizes and networking with fellow contemporaries is much looked forward to as a night of reunion and enjoyment for all Marketers.
SLIM Toastmasters Club continues to carry out its activities in order to develop public speaking and leadership qualities as one of the membership development activities of SLIM.
Numerous events were carried out by SLIM Toastmasters for the betterment of the membership. There were events such as Officer Training Programmes, conferences and joint meetings with other leading clubs in the fraternity in developing leadership skills. Furthermore, they have contributed to SLIM in many ways such as compering in public forums conducting guest sessions in corporate, taking up roles in event committees, etc.
Most importantly SLIM Toastmasters have performed in speech contests at area and division level in securing place for SLIM Toastmasters Club for humorous, evaluation and impromptu speech categories.
The event is designed to provide the membership an opportunity to relax, unwind and network with other marketing practitioners – strengthening the informal network of Marketing professionals in the country and promoting fraternization and cross company partnership.
